The Goose and Gander Story
Myself and my fiancée have been working alongside each other in various kitchens across the UK and France for almost a decade, we felt it was time to start our own brand! Carlie called me a silly goose one day and the nickname stuck wherever we waddled! We love giving back to the community which means we only ever source our ingredients locally, we freshly prepare dishes using modern and classic techniques to show everyone our passion of food and hospitality. We hope you enjoy dining with us as much as we enjoy cooking for you.

We are award winning chefs wanting to push ourselves further in our culinary adventure. I have been obsessed with cooking for half my life and want to share my love with the world. I pushed my skills very early on in my career when I became Head Chef at The Inn at West End in my early 20s. I then entered The Game Chef of the Year 2014 where I battled from over 100 entries down to the final 4! I loved the challenge which inspired me to investigate new ideas, techniques and styles. Carlie joined my foodie adventure nearly 10 years ago and never looked back, she took a shine to nose to tail dining, where she had a serious skill for butchery. The love of the pressure made her confident enough to be my number 2 within a few years. In 2017 we moved to France where we ran a busy pizza kitchen in The Alps, where we won Best Bar 2018 in the Morzine Source Awards. We then returned to the UK where we started our new life in Devon and won Best Gastro Pub in the Exeter Living Awards 2019, we were so grateful to be welcomed into the West Country and proud that we could get local produce to help us get on the map!
Both our Main menu and Pub Classic menu will be available Tuesday to Saturday.
The Sunday Lunch menu will be available every Sunday 12 - 4 and will vary slightly each week.
